Awards

The Trustees meet every other year in July to decide on the number of awards with the value £250-£1500 each.

Applications are invited from women educated in Britain who have appropriate academic qualifications and who wish to undertake further training or research in the UK at any appropriate educational establishment.

Please check carefully that you meet our criteria, noting the exclusions listed below. Funding is not normally available for:

  • Undergraduate degrees with the exception of mature students who are not eligible for student loans
  • PGCEs
  • Legal practice courses
  • NHS career progression
  • Writing-up time for a PhD
  • Travel outside the UK or attendance at conference
  • Projects that are part of a postgraduate (or other) degree that has already been awarded funding
  • Students born outside the UK whose only educational qualification in the UK is at Master’s level

It is rare for the Trust to award funding for a postgraduate degree immediately following an undergraduate degree or for a second Master's degree.

Please note that we are a small trust with limited funding and we are not currently able to:

  • Answer queries on eligibility for which the answers are available on the website.
  • Answer requests for funding which have not followed our application procedure.
  • Contact unsuccessful applicants.

If you have not been contacted by the Trust by the end of July in the application cycle, you should assume that your application was unsuccessful.
